If your child is older and hasn’t played before, there may be opportunities to play with a younger cohort while they learn the game. More experienced players can also play up. Our goal is for everyone to feel welcome & have fun!

From the Little League upwards, the competitions are split into 2 (or 3 for LL) divisions. Historically, Windsor has been able to field Div 1 & Div 2 teams in most competitions. Div 1 teams are named after the first few weeks of training.

Tee Ball

A great introduction to baseball for kids aged 3-7. 

In the first half of the season (before Christmas) we run an internal skills-based program Mondays and Fridays to get kids ready for the season ahead.  After Christmas, we’ll work with parents to see if they’re keen to participate in the Metro Tee Ball comp on Saturday mornings, or if they’d like to continue to do Friday nights.

We are sometimes able to have the games as curtain raisers for our Div 1 games.

LITTLE LEAGUE MP

Little League MP (previously called Rookie Ball) is a modified version of baseball, where coaches (or the zooka machine) pitch to the players. Generally it’s for kids aged 8 & 9 and is a great intro to baseball.

There are no strikes or balls, and after 4 unsuccessful pitches, the player can hit off a tee.  Sorry coaches – your strikeouts don’t count here ;P

 

Rookie Ball

For kids aged 10-12, Little League  is the earliest competition that plays ‘full’ baseball (players pitching, strikes & balls etc.), but on a modified field (smaller pitch distances and distance between the bases).

Little League Minors 40 and Little League Minors 46 were previously known as Little League Div 3 and 2 respectively.  In these divisions, instead of players ‘walking’ they are able to hit off a tee/coaches pitch.

Little League Majors was previously Little League Div 1 and is played on a full sized Little League field.

Little League players are eligible to trial for regional representative teams, which compete at the state and national level. Windsor is part of Brisbane Metro Baseball.  Several kids from Windsor have played at the state & national level as part of Brisbane Metro teams.

Senior League – 70, 80 and 90

For kids aged 13-17.

Senior League 70 was previously known as Intermediate League and is a good step up between Little League and Junior League. Kids play on a modified field for pitching distance etc.

Senior League 80 was previously known as Junior League, and kids play on an 80ft diamond.

Senior League 90 is played on a full sized Diamond.

Kids playing in these divisions have opportunities to play representative sport with Brisbane Metro, and School Sports. 

Big league (Under 20’s)

For players aged 17-20, Big League is played at the full field size. It has a regional Div 1 competition as well.
