1955 Windsor baseball club established

Our club was officially established in 1955 by Local Member of Parliament, Bob Windsor.

In 1962 the club was renamed the Windsor Pepsi Pirates and it leased part of Spencer Park, naming it Holloway Field. The ground was officially opened on 10 May 1964.

1991officially renamed Windsor Royals baseball club

Our club was officially renamed the Windsor Royals Baseball Club in 1991. Most recently, our Div 1 team won the GBL Championship in 2023.

The Windsor Royals have a history and tradition of success.  The Club boasts the most Queensland Baseball Club Championships with 18, and the most Queensland Baseball GBL Major League Championships with 12.  The club has won the Club Championship for the past 5 seasons, and the Major League Championship for the past 2.

In the past 10 seasons the Club has been fortunate to have almost every junior and senior team make the playoffs every year, with many teams winning grand finals.

Windsor Alumni Logan Wade and Ryan Battaglia were selected in Team Australia in the 2023 World Baseball Championships in Japan.

We are also very fortunate to see many of our players head to the USA to play college baseball.

Award winning grounds

As well as being home to our awesome club, Holloway Field is also home to QLD’s ABL team, the Brisbane Bandits. It’s not an exaggeration to say that we get to play on professional-level grounds.

Thanks to the incredible work of our grounds crew, in 2023, The Australian Baseball League named Holloway as Playing Surface of the Year. This was an even more amazing achievement given our club was completely flooded in February 2022! 

This was not the first time our grounds received such recognition either. In 2014 Baseball Australia awarded the Windsor Royals Baseball Club with the Australian Diamond Award for the Best Baseball Club in Australia.
